CULTURE AND DESIGN We are aware that alongside the promotion of young creators there also has to be a space for historical memory. And we wanted to start with a tribute to the life and career of Antoni Morillas, recovering one of the sculptures of the multi-faceted Barcelona designer with a limited, numbered series of only nine copies. The original piece, made in 1973 with pine panels from an old fruit crate, belongs to the private collection of the artist’s son. It was Lluís Morillas, also a designer, who donated it to Signes in 1995 so that it could be awarded (on that occasion reproduced in bronze) as a trophy for the second Signes Award for Design Students.
